HYDRAULIC PIPING ENGINEERING ON OFFSHORE VESSEL
Reference Project; HYDRAULIC PIPING ENGINEERING ON OFFSHORE VESSEL
Project Overvıew
As part of a drilling vessel upgrade project, our team delivered the engineering design package for the installation of a Tubular Running System (TRS) on the drill floor. The project started with a laser scanning survey of the installation area, followed by the development of detailed 3D models of the existing structural steelwork and hydraulic piping systems. These models provided an accurate digital representation of the as-built conditions and formed the basis for the subsequent engineering activities.
Following the evaluation of available space and operational requirements, the optimum location for the TRS equipment was identified. New hydraulic supply, return, and drain lines were designed and modeled in AVEVA E3D, utilizing SAE 3000 flanged connections to ensure reliable integration with the existing hydraulic system. Structural strength analyses were also performed to verify the adequacy of the drill floor structure for the additional equipment loads.
Once the design was approved by the client through a coordinated Navisworks 3D model review, a complete fabrication and installation package was prepared. The deliverables included equipment layout drawings, installation drawings, piping isometrics, material take-off lists, and structural assessment reports. To avoid modifications to the existing hydraulic lines, a custom-designed tee block was developed, and the associated CAM manufacturing drawings and machining codes were generated, providing a practical and fabrication-ready solution for the TRS installation.
